Corporate Partnership Program

The easiest way to understand the Corporate Partnership Program is to view the concept in terms of your organization's overall marketing strategy. Specifically, this nationally recognized program offers companies the opportunity to develop an affiliation with the City of San Diego which can be used to complement or enhance the marketing efforts of that organization. The actual affiliation with the City may take the form of a business opportunity, sponsorship or even a philanthropic relationship. Regardless of the form, the Corporate Partnership Program is specifically designed to serve as a mutually beneficial business arrangement between the City and an organization or individual.

Since inception, this innovative program has generated over $12 million dollars in revenue and enhancements for the City of San Diego. The Corporate Partnership Program was officially formed by action of the City Council on June 8, 1999 and has the following objectives:

  1. To establish and guide relationships with and existing and potential business partners who share the City's commitment to provide the highest quality civic environment through the City of San Diego.
  2. To generate revenue to fund existing and additional facilities, projects, programs, and activities.
  3. To minimize the perception that the City has become "corporatized" by limiting the number of corporate partners while maximizing the cumulative revenue from the partners.

The Corporate Partnership Program is an excellent opportunity for corporations in all business sectors because the City of San Diego is an ideal city in which to do business.
